The Arizona Marlins Swim Club original coach, has served and managed the club since 1982. Mike has built a spirited and successful club, with 8 Age Group State titles and 2 Senior State Titles. Unique in today club structures, Mike still coaches the eight and under swimmers as well as the Senior and National Team.
In 1982, Mike served as Arizona Coaches' Representative to the Arizona Local Swim Committee and as Arizona Technical Chairman from 1983 to 1986. Mike represented the State of Arizona as all-star Team Coach in 1982, 1983, and 1984 and as Western Zone Coach in 1985. In 1986 and 1987, Mike served as Vice President of the Arizona Coaches Association.
The Arizona Marlins Swim club is proud of the number of swimmers who have continued their swimming careers in college. Swimming will open doors, to the University your looking at as well as help pay for your education.The following swimmers trained with and came from the Marlins age group and senior programs and are currently swimming in Universities.
Justin Ewers team Captain Stanford University,
as well as Casey Ketterling Stanford. Kelly Igoe a member
of the NCAA team at Northwestern. Two swimmers at Kenyon
1998 Division II Champions, Colby Genrich and Paul Aleck.
Carlton has Julie Cochran and Carrie Gloudemans.
Swimmers have also been represented at, Alabama,
Duke, UCLA, Texas, Rice, NAU,
ASU, UofA , UNLV , Colorado College.

Head Age Group Coach since 1986, was himself an
outstanding age group swimmer. At Brophy Preparatory
School Ken swam breaststroke and butterfly and
participated in he Far Western Championship. In 1983, Ken
was a member of the Marlins' first Junior National relay
team. Ken also swam as a Wildcat for the University of
Arizona. Managing his swimmers with cheerfulness,
enthusiasm, and understanding, Ken's efforts have placed
the Arizona Marlins in the top three at the State Junior
Olympic Championships since 1986. In 1991, with the help
of a strong age group team, the Arizona Marlins took
first place in the State Championships and continued to
win in 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98 and will be a contender
once again in 1999.
Marie Snyder
Assistant age group coach since 1987. Marie is
in charge of the 8 & under program. Marie was a
member of the Arizona State Swimming team. A Nationaly
ranked breastroker from Parkway Swim Team, in St. Louis,
MI.
