This is roughly based on the Tour de France bike race. Each team completes, in a workout time-trial, the distance race on the schdeule during the 2 week period given. The coach then sends the results to me at azmarlins@cox.net (by that following Monday) to be merged with all the teams. I’ll then post the results on our web page, (by that Wed.) and e-mail you the results. I’ll break them into 9 & under, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 year old age groups girls and boys.

For Individuals: Top 3 (possibly expand depending on number of teams involved) performers in each stage will receive a special Tour ‘de West Stage Winner T-Shirt iron on patches.  Additional patches will be given for overall champions.

For Teams: your honor is to be the team that submits a "Challenge Workout or set" for the rest of us. Simply send me the workout (or set) and some of your top kids (with ages) results from one of your favorite workout’s you did, and I’ll post that in the "Challenge" section (in the results area). I will also post other teams results from that workout as they are sent in to me. Once you have submitted a "Challenge workout" you will not need to submit another one, and if you are still in the lead, the next team down will submit the next workout.

Fees: $30 per team. I will send the iron-ons to the team contact address you send me so you can give them to your winners.

Rules:

1. Times are workout time trials (give times to the tenth) supervised by coach.

2. If you are at an altitude where altitude adjustments are appropriate please do so, and send me the times already adjusted.

3. You can submit as many swimmers as you wish, the fastest three each stage will count for your team time, but all swimmers will be listed in the results.

4. Age of the athlete as of 9/15/08 will govern for the entire competition

5. Please send me a roster (with B-day's) before the start of the 1st stage.  New athletes can be added at any time, but make sure to include their B-day's when submitting new swimmers.
